. A traveller from TripAdvisor – « Excellent hotel, friendly service & wonderful concierge; loved it! » – March 2010
« We cannot say enough about the friendly, helpful service at Hotel Terrass. The concierge, Danielle, recommended excellent restaurants and, of course, made our reservations. She also gave us helpful advice about traveling around the city, how to avoid the long lines at the Louvre, and which tour to take to get a good overview of the city; we cannot praise her enough! The hotel is well located (you can easily walk to the church of the Sacred Heart (Sacre Coeur) in Montmartre to mix with the numerous artists at the Place du Tertre and see the panoramic view of Paris. Excellent restaurants are nearby, the metro is just up the street from the hotel, and Le Moulin Rouge is just a couple of blocks away. It was a wonderful place to stay! »
Ottimo »
. Harvey, North Lincolnshire, UK – « Beautiful hotel in a good location » – November 2009
« Stayed here Nov 09 & have to say we had an excellent time. The hotel is very smart, clean & comfortable. The rooms aren’t massive but perfectly adequate & furnished to a high standard. All the staff were very polite aswell. We did find the hotel restaurant prices were quite expensive but that seemed to be the case across Paris & we were expecting that. The hotel is about 5-10 min walking distance to the Moulin Rouge & nearby metro station so the whole of Paris is easily accessible. If we came to Paris again we would book the Terrass in an instance. »
. JamCam76, Brisbane, Australia – « Wow! What a view from the roof terrace and great food/service to match » – September 2009
« Weather permitting, Diapson’s 7th floor roof terrace (open April to end September) must be one of the best kept secrets of Montmatre. Its views of the Eiffel Tower and Paris are magical and on a sunny day the roof terrace has a truly amazing atmosphere – see their website for photos of the view.
The service we received was friendly and courteous. The prices were very reasonable for the quality of food, though the champagne list was a little limited with not much middle choice and only one opiton for half bottles.
We booked ahead that morning for 130pm Tuesday lunch and were never rushed. Our early arrival at 1.10pm was not a problem. It was a beautiful, sunny autumn day. My partner had the calamari gazpacho entre with salmon and vegetables plat, while I had the smoked salmon entre and quail plat. The best dishes were the calamari gazpacho and the quail – both exceptional for the price.
The dark chocolate ganache dessert was to die for if you are a chocolate lover. The wait-staff were friendly and most spoke english very well. The topping up of drinks could have been a little more regular however this is a minor gripe and didn’t detract from our meal.
All in all, our favourite meal in Paris (and we dined at the Jules Verne which cost more than three times as much!). It topped-off the last day of our honeymoon wonderfully. We will definitely visit this place again if we are lucky enough to visit Paris in the warmer months. »
. Gail Davis, Brighton, UK – « Amazing hotel » – August 2009
« It took me two days surfing to find this hotel and discount the others and I,m so glad I did. We decided to have an extra quick break in the last week of the school holidays with our 5 year old son. The Terrass was the perfect hotel for us, we stayed for 4 nights . It was outstanding in many ways, the hotel is in a fantastic position to explore Paris easily. Near train, metro and bus connections. The rooms were a good size, gorgeous decor and very clean. I particularly loved the Villroy and Bosh bath! Breakfast was lovely as was the amazing selection of food and the staff could not have been more helpful. The roof terrace restaurant was always full which was our only issue as we wanted to eat there, so book early! We did however have drinks later in the evening, which gave a spectacular view of Paris. Will book again in the future. »

» We stayed at the Terrass for 4 nights in May for our honeymoon. As we expected the room was small but very pleasant with a great view over Paris, including the Eiffel Tower. The location is quite good with easy access to the Metro. Rue des Abbesses, which runs along the front of the hotel, is full of shops and restaurants. The breakfast at Terrass is very good, they have the usual spread but will also do eggs if you ask. «
. Banano, BC, August 28, 2008
»We stayed in a standard room which was small but lovely, very nicely decorated with french doors that open onto a small balcony. As we were on the second floor we didn’t have the views over Paris and the hotel does face onto the graveyard – but this graveyard is a tourist attraction in itself as many famous French people are burried there. We also made use of the terrace on the 7th floor which had wonderful views – we sat up there when the restaurant was closed with a bottle of wine and enjoyed the views with the place to ourselves watching the lights on the Eiffel tower change – perfect! I have read many reviews where people have upgraded and I would say do it to get the views from your room if cost is no object. However for us it was too expensive to upgrade as we got a great deal with one night free for our standard room – we loved our stay anyway and would not stay anywhere else in Paris. We did not include breakfast in our room either as it was expensive, we did however love going out on the morning to a local cafe to enjoy cafe au lait and pain au chocolat.
Montmartre is safe, beautiful and in my opinion the most characterful area of Paris within easy reach of all major attractions. »

We just returned from our honeymoon in Paris and couldn’t wait to commend the staff of the Terrass Hotel. All of the concierges were extremely knowledgable and made us feel like old friends. Our room was exceptionally clean, comfortable and had a great view of the Eiffel Tower from our bed.
The hotel location is a 5 minute walk from the Metro with an easy connection to just about any destination in Paris.
The breakfast buffet which was included in our room rate was delicious and plentiful. The rooftop restaurant provided an exceptional view of the Eiffel Tower and Paris and was home to many a romantic moment for us. »
• 21 août 2007 : Amazing!
« I stayed here with my girlfriend (who I would be proposing to on this trip)
After months of research and very careful planning, our trip was almost disrupted due to high
security problems at Heathrow airport last year. We were extremely lucky to have even flown out.
Due to the problems at Heathrow we did not receive our luggage and all we had were our passports
and our cash cards. That was all!
The Terrass was so helpful managing to provide us with t-shirts, toothbrushes, cleaning products etc. If this wasn’t enough they even upgraded us to a junior suit (if memory serves me correctly it was room 704). The room was exactly as I imagined it to be, if not better. It was clean, neat and very spacious with a clear and uninterrupted view of Paris and the Eiffel Tower. The bathroom was very large and well kept.
The location is perfect. Tucked away in the traditional French streets, surrounded by cafes and small shops, although busy it becomes quiet towards the evening so do not worry. By foot you could reach all the main streets leading to the main attractions this should take around 20 minutes.
Do not miss the Moulin Rouge. It’s an amazing show and a must on any trip to Paris. Again the Terrass helped by booking the tickets. Due to the smart dress code we needed to buy clothes at short notice. The Terrass couldn’t have been kinder by drawing a detailed map to all the local shops were we could get as dressed up as possible.
All in all this is a wonderful hotel which I cannot wait to visit again. A must if you are to stay in Paris.
And if you’re wondering she did say yes! »
• A guest from Southampton 3 août 2007: Wow!
« We stayed for 3 nights as a part of our honeymoon in Paris. Wow! The junior suite was amazing! The rooms were clean and massive for french standards. I will be coming back here every year.
I cannot recommend this hotel enough. Go, book it now. Book the Junior Suite – don’t bother with inclusive breakfast – go to the local supermarket and take your breakfast on the balcony.
If you want to stay in Paris, stay here. »

We did not stay at the Hotel, but « discovered » the restaurant on the internet. Booked online in English one month before our visit. What a place !!! Beautiful hot May day. Fantastic views of Paris. Very friendly courteous attentive staff – including the manager. Superb!!! is the only way to descibe the food. Had 3 course sunday meal – all magnificent. Champers to start & between three of us 3 bottles of house wine, 2 rose’ & i red. All very nice indeed. Total bill 210 Euros = 70 Euros each. Excellent value. Dinned for 3.5 hours, not rushed, totally relaxed. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED !! One of the best, if not the BEST meals I have had anywhere in the world. Very well travelled, age 50 years plus – so I’ve been around alot. Well done. You must book early !!!! ENJOY
Frequest travels to Paris on business and vacation often bring superb, local boutique hotels to my attention. After several unsuccesfful attempts to stay at the Hotel Terrass in Montmartre, i was finally able to secure a room for 4 nights on a short business trip from June 29th through the 3rd of July. The hotel exceeded all of my expectations, both from a business and pleasure perspective. Each of the comments in reviews about the lovely concierge, Danielle, are « spot on. » She graciously assisted in recommending restaurants, giving accurate directions to the Metro, La Moulin de la Galette and Restaurant La Chammarre behind Sacre Coeur, and advising that ‘you must see the Musee Nissam de Camondo by the Parc Monceau if you intend upon visiting the Musee Jacquemart Andre. And the Parc Monceau is the most « Parissienne » of all.! » Armed with brochures she supplied, I metroed about Paris on my only free afternoon. She was right again! When a last minute change in business plans took me back to London for a day, she deftly jumped online, and then decided I’d have a better selection of Eurostar fares and travel class availability by walking a short 2 blocks to the SCNF offices on Rue Lepis two blocks away. She was absolutely correct, and accordingly my client and I saved 200 Euros each on a business premier ticket. The Diapason Terrace Restaurant was also booked several months in advance, but on a Tuesday night at 10 o’clock there is usually room for a single. After sitting at a pub table sipping Pelligrino water and a delicious sauvignon blanc, a table replete with commanding view of the Parisian sky line and Tour Eifel opened, and I was promptly transferred. Each course was beautifully prepared, and the patient staff directed my French appropriately where needed, and in « Anglais » when a perplexed look crossed my face. My quiet room on the rear « jardin » side of the hotel muted all traffic sounds. I slept peacefully on my very comfortable queen-sized bed each night. If our final celestial reward is as placid and enjoyable as the Hotel Terrass, then I have briefly visited heaven in Paris this summer.
had a wonderful 4 nights at the Terass for our 40th wedding aniversary. having read the reviews before booking I was pleased that it lived up to my expectations. lovely clean comfortable, quiet room, breakfast was included and was reasonably good. The hotel is in a good location in Montmarte and there are good restaurants and cafes all round. The brilliant metro system is easy to use and means you can get to anywhere in Paris very quickly. We didn’t try the restaurant but went to the roof top for drinks one evenng and it was a brilliant romantic location overlooking Paris with the illuminated eiffel tower.I would definately recommend this hotel and will stay there again if I return to Paris in he future
