Design and art at Maurice Hurand Hotels Paris

The Pavillon des Arts et du Design is a modern art and design fair that attracts the biggest names in the industry. Alongside some big-hitters - which in 2008 include the likes of Jacques Lacoste, François Laffanour, Jean-François Chabolle, Galerie Avant-Scène, Galerie Dominique Bert and Massimo.

PAD has a reputation for launching the young talents of tomorrow.

You will find everything from painting, photography and sculpture to jewellery, tapestries and furniture among the 80-odd exhibitors here. There’s also a restaurant on-site so you can ponder whether or not to splash some cash over coffee and cake.

Art a Saint Germain des Pres avec l’Hotel Artus 3 avril 2008

L’artiste Nathalie AUTOUR expose à l’Artus Hotel a Saint Germain des Pres , du 5 Avril au 30 Mai 2008.

Nathalie Autour est née en 1962, et vit à Montmartre depuis une vingtaine d’années.
Diplômée de l’Ecole Supérieure des Arts Modernes à Paris en 1981, elle entreprend un parcours professionnel dans l’architecture d’intérieur, le design et la création de décor.
Elle s’intéresse à la photographie, à la peinture et au début des années 2000 se met à travailler l’acrylique sur des grands formats. Elle utilise des couteaux larges, mélange les couleurs directement sur la toile, quelques matières sont parfois bienvenues et l’emploi de pastel gras vient en surface faire vibrer les teintes.
Aujourd’hui artiste peintre à part entière, trois thèmes prédominent dans son travail. Une liberté d’expression abstraite donne naissance à des tableaux vivement colorés laissant libre cours à toute interprétation. La passion de construire et de composer fait jaillir des « Cités » en clair-obscur c’est alors le jeu du noir et du bleu, du blanc et de l’ocre. Enfin l’alliance d’une palette plus sobre et d’un geste plus fluide révèle des œuvres inspirées de l’écorce des arbres.
Depuis 2003 elle expose dans des lieux très différents à Paris et en province. Après une belle présentation au Terrass Hôtel a Montmartre en décembre 2007, l’artiste expose une dizaine d’œuvres choisies pour l’Artus Hotel à Saint Germain des Pres, du 5 Avril au 30 Mai 2008.

Nathalie Autour was born in 1962 and has been living in Montmartre for 20 years. After being graduated from the Modern Art High School of Paris in 1981, she makes her professional way in decorative architecture, design and scenery creation.
She is interested in photography, painting and in the early 2000 she starts working with acrylic on large paintings.
With big palette knives, she mixes colours directly on the canvas; some materials are occasionally adopted and fatty pastel thrills tints on surface.
As full-time painter now, three major themes prevail in her work. A free abstract expression gives life to intensely coloured paintings, leaving complete freedom of interpretation. Passion to construct and compose leads to “Towns” twilight rising which gives a game among black and blue, white and ochre.
Lastly, combination of more moderate range of colours with more fluent movement reveals pictures inspired by bark of trees. Since 2003, Nathalie Autour presents her work in different places in Paris and elsewhere in France.
After a successful presentation at the Terrass Hotel in Montmartre in December 2007, she is exhibiting several paintings at the Artus Hotel, in Saint Germain des Pres, from April 5 to May 30, 2008.
