Attention événement à ne pas manquer lorsque vous séjournerez au Terrass Hôtel à Montmartre! Pour la première fois, une exposition dédiée à cette boisson mythique est organisée à Paris du 1er avril au 30 juin 2008: la Fée Verte. L’exposition retrace l’histoire de cette liqueur populaire, qui dépassa la consommation de vin à la fin du XIXème siècle.
À cette époque où les artistes et les écrivains refaisaient le monde dans les cafés et cabarets montmartrois enfumés, l’absinthe connu son heure de gloire. C’est d’ailleurs la bohème artistique parisienne du XIXème siècle qui en fit un usage intense, espérant trouver dans cet alcool peu coûteux et enivrant, une source de création. Verlaine et Baudelaire tout comme leurs contemporains : Van Gogh, Toulouse-Lautrec ou encore George Sand étaient des grands amateurs d’absinthe. Néanmoins, la popularité de cet alcool entraîna rapidement des productions de mauvaises qualités qui eurent des effets physiques et psychologiques dévastateurs. Baptisée également “l’Atroce sorcière” ou “Notre-Dame de l’oubli”, l’absinthe avait en effet le pouvoir d’emporter ses consommateurs dans l’euphorie voire la folie. Mais devant les nombreux abus, l’absinthe fut interdite à partir de 1915 ce qui ne fit qu’accroître la fascination pour cette boisson. De nos jours, cet apéritif n’est plus aussi prisé qu’avant, mais conserve néanmoins sa légende de filtre à la fois redoutable et fascinant.

Nestled in a green area the Zadkine Museum whose privacy adds to the delight of its visitors is a charming place where memories continue to vibrate at an artistic creation, in the center of Paris and close to the Hotel de Buci.
If the sculptures are important in the Zadkine museum with the frequently renewed artworks of Ossip Zadkine, it is associated with the creation of more contemporary programming through regular guest artists.
The workshop where Zadkine received his students hosted a hundred artists over the last ten years and returned to its original function: an experimentation center for art. Appointments are regularly offered, such as public readings of contemporary poetry and a cycle of contemporary art and memory.

Camille Claudel is more known by the general public for her passionate relationship with the sculptor Rodin than for her creations. An anomaly when you know that everyone now recognizes originality and intensity of her work…
The Rodin Museum is proposing to discover a retrospective of Camille Claudel’s work, with more than 80 sculptures (marble, terra cotta, plaster, bronze and onyx) and a few prints and drawings.
At the same time lover, student and admirer of Rodin - twenty four years elder than her -, Camille Claudel has never hidden the influence of Rodin for her creations but it seems that the opposite is also true.
The exhibition wonders not only on this key issue - it is sometimes difficult on some sculptures to distinguish the work of one or the other - but also about the role of Camille Claudel on the art from the late nineteenth century.
