Paris is the capital of shopping and creation and sets the trends that will be seen on the world’s streets tomorrow. It is a paradise for fashionistas from all over the world with its numerous fashion designers’ stores (Jean-Paul Gaultier, Sonia Rykiel, Christian Dior, Yves St Laurent, Chanel…) and its young creators’ boutiques. In January, « shopping in Paris » means « bargain prices »: it is the winter sales! For five weeks, from January 6th to February 9th 2010, small boutiques and large stores offer reductions on the season’s collection of 20% to 50% on the original prices. On the last days of the sales, reductions can even be as much as 70%! Foreign visitors from outside the European Union can also take advantage of a 12% tax refund (conditions apply).
For the fourth consecutive year, the Paris Conventions and Visitors Bureau and its partners hold, during the first three days of the Sales (6-9th January), « Soldes By Paris », an operation in which the Maurice Hurand Hotels take part with the itinerant concierge service.
