The Eiffel Tower, named after its creator, has become a global icon of France and is one of the most recognizable structures in the world. Built between 1887 and 1889, Gustave Eiffel’s masterpiece currently celebrates its 120th birthday.
Paris City Hall pays tribute to Gustave Eiffel and his work through the exhibition « Gustave Eiffel, Genius of Iron », relating the construction of the Eiffel Tower and of other significant structures that Eiffel imagined. It is the first major exhibition entirely dedicated to the man who built the most famous tower in the world, through a range of photographs, paintings and models.
In the meantime, the Eiffel Tower tells its own story with another exhibition on the first platform and in the staircases, « The Epic Story of the Eiffel Tower ».
Gustave Eiffel, born in 1832, was an ingenious engineer. He started his career in Bordeaux in 1858 with a company specialized in the construction of railway bridges. Throughout his career, Eiffel designed numerous civil engineering structures in Europe, Asia, Africa and America, and even built the iron structure of the Statue of Liberty. He definitely changed Paris skyline with his famous tower, one of the most photographed monument in the world.

Open everyday from 10am to 7pm (closed on Sundays and public holidays).
Free admission.

On the first stage and in the staircases of the Eiffel Tower until December 31.
Free for visitors with admission ticket.
