Posted by webmaster in : Design & Decoration,News,Parcours,Shopping , add a commentTo celebrate the 40th anniversary of the house of Sonia Rykiel, Les Arts Décoratifs is organising the first major retrospective of her work in Paris. « Sonia Rykiel, Exhibition » takes us on a journey of discovery in which 220 creations from 1968 to the presentday mingle with the fashion photographs and videos which forged the image of this pioneer of contemporary fashion.
The exhibition plunges us into Sonia Rykiel’s mysterious and haunting universe, in which her clothes play hide and seek with catwalk videos and photographs. The exhibition space evokes a Haussmanian apartment, which one gradually discovers as one goes from room to room: a rotunda doors, boudoirs and alcoves succeed one another in a muffled atmosphere emphasized by flesh-coloured gauze revealing the glamorous and sensual touch Sonia Rykiel loves so much. The exhibition covers all the major themes emblematic of the Rykiel universe. It opens with a retrospective of Sonia Rykiel sweaters.
Black, inside-out, the revolutionary stripes but also rarely used materials such as velvet, which she used to make the most elegant sweatsuits, and lace and fur, which tattoo the body with subtle accents straight our of the 1930s…
Sonia Rykiel’s collaboration with Dominique Isserman sealed the creation of a myth and the timelessness of her creations. The exhibition will fully explore the work which united her and the photographer, who took all her publicity photographs from 1979 to 1990.
The exhibition is studded with previously unshown material, including her interview with Andy Warhol for « Warhil’s TV » in 1981.

Paris illumine Paris 9 décembre 2008
Posted by webmaster in : News , add a commentDe l’Arc de Triomphe à la place de la Concorde, un million de points blancs scintillants avec des effets de cascades, ont été installés sur les 415 arbres qui bordent chaque côté de la plus belle avenue du monde.
Pour fêter la présidence française de l’Union Européenne, un halo bleu a été installé dans chaque arbre.
Depuis deux ans, les illuminations des Champs-Elysées à l’occasion des fêtes de Noël et du nouvel an, utilisent des diodes de nouvelle génération réduisant la facture énergétique de 70% que se partagent les commerçants et la mairie de Paris.
Jusqu’à fin janvier.
C’est en présence du maire de Paris Bertrand Delanoë que l’actrice Marion Cotillard a déclenché l’illumination des Champs-Elysées mercredi 19 novembre.
