A walk in Paris at the Trocadero 16 juillet 2008

What is there to see at Trocadero? The Eiffel Tower, of course! From its legendary summit, the French capital appears even more beautiful – so small seen from above and yet at the same time so vast. But did you know that the area around these mythical 324 metres of metal is also full of attractive sites?

A walk in wide open spaces
The River Seine flows below the Eiffel Tower. From the landing stages, one can embark for a discovery tour of Paris on the water. All around, huge skyscapes, monumental palaces, esplanades and century-old trees provide an extraordinary panorama. On the Left Bank, the Champ-de-mars, its play areas, quaint refreshment kiosks and lawns unroll their green carpet for a relaxing pause.
On the Right Bank, the attractive gardens of Trocadero with their little stream, rare species of trees, flowers and gilded statues descend the hillside in a festival of water features and fountains.

Museum Hills
A top site for open-air escapades, Chaillot hill is also a giant in terms of art and culture. The choice is yours; a thousand treasures are within your grasp! Engage with modern art and contemporary creation, or be tempted by fashion. Admire Primary Arts in their new showcase of wood, glass and greenery. Marvel at outstanding collections from Asia and Africa. Come and meet one or two great men or even six billion men, millions of years old! Become a wine buff, or discover the subterranean part of the city and the secret of its architecture. Plunge into maritime history or visit a rather special kind of aquarium…
