From April 15th to 13rd July 2008 at Musee Rodin

Camille Claudel is more known by the general public for her passionate relationship with the sculptor Rodin than for her creations. An anomaly when you know that everyone now recognizes originality and intensity of her work…
The Rodin Museum is proposing to discover a retrospective of Camille Claudel’s work, with more than 80 sculptures (marble, terra cotta, plaster, bronze and onyx) and a few prints and drawings.
At the same time lover, student and admirer of Rodin – twenty four years elder than her -, Camille Claudel has never hidden the influence of Rodin for her creations but it seems that the opposite is also true.
The exhibition wonders not only on this key issue – it is sometimes difficult on some sculptures to distinguish the work of one or the other – but also about the role of Camille Claudel on the art from the late nineteenth century.
An exhibition to see!
