Le Diapason : a restaurant that dominate the parisian scene 8 septembre 2007
Posted by webmaster in : Gastronomie , trackback Le Diapason, a French name reflecting both the technique of high quality cuisine and the harmony of the senses…the Terrass Hotel’s restaurant is located in the so typically artistic neighbourhood of Montmartre, a district where such artists as Picasso, Modigliani, Renoir or Erik Satie have contributed to its unique history.
Utterly redesigned in 2005, Le Diapason has become a very trendy place, chic yet unpretentious, combining delicious French cuisine and the “Art de Vivre à la Française”: Hotel guests share the place with the local personalities who come regularly to enjoy the view from the roof top terrace or the cosy atmosphere of the street level spacious room.
• Concept
The restaurant Le Diapason situated on the lobby level of the Terrass Hotel**** is the ideal place to relax after a day in bustling Paris.
The contemporary and sophisticated design created by interior architect Denis Doistau, a delicate combination of sleek materials and gentle colours with soft shades of grey and cream and hints of red creates a serene atmosphere.
The relaxed atmosphere is accompanied by the gentle whisper of two marble fountains.
The furniture, cushioned benches and armchairs in grey with cream edging and the sound absorbing carpet contribute likewise to the cosy ambiance.
The spacious tables are dressed differently for breakfast, lunch and dinner and dispose, if desired, of semi transparent canvases for more intimacy.
• The terrace with a view
From May to September, Le Diapason moves to the 7th floor of the hotel surprising its guests with a garden terrace with a splendid panoramic view over the roofs of Paris, the Eiffel Tower, the Panthéon, the Invalides…
The romantic terrace is like a secret garden in the middle of Paris. Some of the panoramic scenes of the movie “Amélie” have been shot from this unusual spot.

• The Chef
The finesse of the design reflects the creative French cuisine with Mediterranean touches. All dishes have been created by our young and talented Chef de Cuisine Julien Roucheteau who already worked with some of the greatest French Chefs of our time. After his apprenticeship at the “Présidence du Sénat” he worked 3 years at “Le Cinq” in the brigade of Chef Phillip Legendre. He then worked for Chef Michel Troisgros at “La Table du Lancaster”. Since the 1st of April 2006 he is Chef at Le Diapason restaurant.
